Hello! My name is Travis Burkstrand, I’m a Digital Product Designer with 7 years of experience currently working on the Design Systems team at Nike.
I started my creative path as a young artist drawing and painting throughout elementary and high school, and eventually continued that passion on in college as a BA in Art and MA in Graphic Design at the University of Minnesota. I found my way to digital product design as a result of redesigning the ecommerce experience for a small company in Seattle, WA. I was fortunate enough to be put through General Assembly’s intensive front-end web development course by that company, which really solidified my love for Product Design. After working for several small studios in Seattle and Portland I found my way to Nike — where I currently work on the design system for all of Nike’s digital products.
I am always eager to learn new skills and continue my journey as a designer, but my biggest goal is to have a positive impact on the world.
